CityDance DREAM was honored in 2015 with a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program award for using dance not just as an aesthetic pursuit, but as an activist one to help youth be successful through discovery of their full potential. At that time, DREAM was an after-school program serving students in grades three to twelve in the DC public school system. In this short film, alumna of the program, now university students, reflect on the impact DREAM continues to have on their lives.

CityDance DREAM is really a family. It feels warm and safe coming here.

CityDance DREAM prepares you for anything you want to do next. I don’t know where I’m going to be, but I do know I want to be good. Great, actually!
