Who’s Gonna Sing Our Song? is a spirited, 30-minute participatory documentary humanities project developed with teenagers in Anacostia, a neighborhood in Southeast Washington, D.C. Over the course of one school year, local artists, musicians, storytellers, and older residents were invited into the classroom to share personal perspectives on African American history.

Who’s Gonna Sing Our Song? was initially broadcast on WHMM and WETA public television stations in Washington, D.C. and distributed to PBS affiliates across the country by Pacific Mountain Network. Funding for production and educational outreach was provided by:
